Poem: The Journey of A Light Beam
18th
May
- 2011 -
Shining bright,
Shining light,
Light runs down to Earth,
Vivid, silky, vibrant leaves,
lap the light straight up,
Light shoots through every twig,
Rushes through the trunk,
Seeps into every root and knot,
Oozes in the sap,
Stretches, pulls, shoves the tree,
Up and up and up,
Grows and buds and blooms and thrives,
Gargantuan, towering plant.
Eventually, the tree is fell,
Falls
downward
into
lake,
down and deep and dark and wet,
Tree
waits,
and
waits,
and
waits.
Denser, thicker, darker, danker,
Tree starts to change,
Turns into coal, not like before,
Taken far away.
Burnt and lit aflame.
Free and bright again.
